New Postdoctoral Bioinformatician
Posted 26
I am delighted to be joining Target Malaria as a Postdoctoral Bioinformatician, based at the South Kensington campus of Imperial College London.
In this role, I will mainly be supporting the scientific teams through the development, implementation, and maintenance of next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis pipelines. Alongside the bioinformatic and statistics support, I aim at expanding the toolset used to identify candidate genes for self-limiting strategies and gene drives. The epigenetic landscape and regulation thereof are of particular interest to me.
I completed my PhD in Evolutionary Genomics in Prof. Chris Eizaguirre’s lab at Queen Mary University of London. I gained a wide range of skills through applying myself to a wide range of research topics. My research projects ranged from the non-random clustering of functionally similar genes across the vertebrate lineage, to assessing the effect of reference genome origin on population genomic metrics, and the identification of genome-wide signatures of natural selection in populations of three-spined stickleback.
I am half Indonesian, half American, and have lived in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia. Although now expired, I also hold a fixed wing private pilot licence I earned whilst living in New Zealand. I would like to renew it in the UK and start flying again soon.
