A consultative meeting with the UVRI Community Advisory Board

On the 31st of January 2025, Target Malaria Uganda hosted a consultative meeting with the Community Advisory Board (CAB), a group that was set up by the Uganda Virus Research Institute to support the Target Malaria team’s efforts to engage with the new village communities.
With a view to exchange and collaboration with stakeholders, the meeting was intended to gather the CAB’s feedback on the research studies that will be conducted in 2025 on selected sites. The Stakeholder Engagement team and the UVRI CAB also agreed on the engagement strategy and which stakeholders to be engaged for the studies to be successful.
The UVRI CAB consists of religious leaders, leaders of fishing communities, local leaders from the Entebbe area, field sites political leaders, and teachers. This group supports Target Malaria’s Stakeholder Engagement team in the planning and development of key stakeholder engagement documents like the engagement strategy and stakeholder maps.
It also participates in various stakeholder engagement activities, such as assessment of the stakeholders’ understanding of the project and its studies, feedback on project activities and message reinforcement.
