New Communications Assistant

I am thrilled to officially be joining the team at Target Malaria as a Communications Assistant Intern!
I recently graduated from the University of Nottingham with an International Media and Communications B.A. (Hons) degree, where I developed a strong understanding of how powerful media can be in communicating with different audiences and driving meaningful change. I became increasingly interested in storytelling through media, which inspired me to pursue creative projects, supporting university departments with content creation and teaching initiatives while developing my own skills as a communicator. My academic experience provided a solid foundation, but it was the hands-on projects and creative pursuits outside the lecture halls that truly fuelled my desire to create.
Alongside my studies, I worked with non-profit organisations to support social media management and communications activities, helping to create engaging content and connect with audiences online. I also gained valuable experience in customer-facing roles, where I developed strong communication and teamwork skills that I look forward to bringing into this role.
Contributing to the work of Target Malaria is especially meaningful to me as someone of Nigerian heritage. The opportunity to support a cause that has could have a direct impact on communities across Africa, while helping to educate and engage audiences through my role as a Communications Assistant, is something I am incredibly proud and excited to be a part of.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about creativity and media in various forms; from film, television, and animation to reading, writing and gaming. I enjoy exploring my own ideas through independent writing projects and creating original content whenever I can.
