Dr. Abdoul-Azize Millogo is a health geographer and specialist in geographic information systems (GIS) based in Burkina Faso. With 15 years of research experience, he was promoted to the rank of research fellow by CAMES in 2023. Based at the Institute for Health Sciences Research (IRSS) of the CNRST in Bobo Dioulasso, he is also GIS coordinator for the Target Malaria project. His expertise covers spatial analysis, malaria modelling, mobile data collection, and the use of geospatial tools for territorial planning and public health. As an active member of the Association of Geo-Information Professionals of Burkina Faso (AproGi BF), he regularly works as a trainer on GIS and spatial analysis. He works to promote the use of geospatial data in health research, local governance, and climate resilience. 

Dr. Millogo’s work lies at the intersection of environmental dynamics, health crises, and adaptation policies. He is particularly interested in ecosystems that are conducive to the development of diseases and how communities and public institutions respond to health and climate risks. He also works on optimizing the spatial deployment of new technologies to combat vector-borne diseases, such as gene drive and Wolbachia. Dr. Millogo was a scholarship recipient and was named the best GIS student in Burkina Faso in 2012. Committed to action research and the training of young researchers, Abdoul-Azize Millogo actively contributes to strengthening national capacities in geomatics applied to development issues in West Africa.
