Target Malaria Uganda engages Faculty of Biosciences at Kyambogo University


Target Malaria Uganda recently held an engagement session with lecturers and students from the Faculty of Biosciences at Kyambogo University.
The meeting offered a platform to share research updates, address questions, and explore opportunities for academic collaboration.
Dr. Oyirwah Patrick, representing the Dean of the faculty, opened the session by emphasizing the importance of advancing biosciences research in Uganda. He highlighted the role of partnerships in preparing the next generation of scientists to tackle pressing public health issues.
Presentations followed, with Julius Caesar Dushime engaging faculty members on the project’s scientific progress, while Dr. Martin Lukindu led a student-focused session.
These sessions sparked discussions among lecturers and students, who engaged in the scientific, ethical, and regulatory aspects of the project. Participants expressed curiosity gene editing for malaria control and revealed shared interests that could pave the way for future academic collaboration.
