New team members at Target Malaria Uganda

The Stakeholder Engagement team at Target Malaria Uganda, based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute, is pleased to welcome two new members. 

Dushime Julius Caesar, National Stakeholder Engagement Support Officer 

Dushime Julius Caesar is excited to join Target Malaria Uganda as the National Stakeholder Engagement Support Officer. With over 8 years of experience in project planning, monitoring and evaluation, and stakeholder engagement at both community and national levels, he brings valuable expertise to the role. Dushime holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute. Throughout his career, he has worked on projects under the Ministry of Water and Environment, playing a key role in engaging policymakers and stakeholders to support sustainable development initiatives. 

He is excited to join Target Malaria in order to contribute to the project. He looks forward to collaborating with stakeholders to raise awareness, build trust, and foster meaningful dialogue around novel malaria control tools.  

Outside of work, he enjoys exercising and spending time with friends. 

Obua James Okwir, National Stakeholder Engagement Support Officer 

Obua James Okwir has joined the team as the National Stakeholder Engagement Support Officer, where he will engage national stakeholders to generate support for the project.  With over ten years of experience in strategy development, stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and mobilization, James holds a Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship and Project Planning from Uganda Christian University and a Certificate in Administrative Law.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              
Before joining Target Malaria, he worked in management at National Water and Sewerage Corporation, handling customer and staff grievances, public relations, and service expansion. James aims to leverage his skills and experience to advance the project’s research. 
In his free time, he enjoys reading, swimming, traveling, watching movies, playing football, and participating in Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
