New Stakeholder Engagement Manager

I am delighted to be joining Target Malaria as the new Stakeholder Engagement Manager, taking over from Delphine Thizy after her six wonderful years in the project. I will be based out of the Imperial College campus in Silwood, UK.
I am a strategic communications and stakeholder engagement specialist with ten years’ experience working with the Government of Tanzania and multinational organizations operating in East Africa, the US and the UK. Prior to joining Target Malaria, I was Senior Manager for Strategic Communications at Gatsby Africa, a philanthropic foundation set up by David Sainsbury to support East African governments to achieve economic growth in key sectors that offer opportunities for value addition, job creation and income generation.
At Gatsby, I managed internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement strategies in Tanzania, and supported teams in our Nairobi and London offices. Previously, I was Senior Manager for External Affairs at BlackIvy Group, where I managed strategic relationships with private and public sector stakeholders related to a large scale investment project in Tanzania’s transportation sector. Earlier in my career, I led africapractice Tanzania’s stakeholder analysis and public affairs work, where I advised clients from various sectors including agri-business, extractives, logistics and trade.
As a Tanzanian, I have witnessed and been directly impacted by malaria throughout my life. The opportunity to work with an organisation dedicated to spearheading an innovative solution to malaria gives me purpose, and I feel personally vested in its success.
I am passionate about socio-economic development through public private partnerships. I believe that clear, consistent and transparent communication between stakeholders is necessary to achieve inclusive and sustainable development in Africa. In addition to stakeholder engagement, I am also trained in advanced communication strategy, strategic media engagement, crisis communications and advanced communications and PR management.
I am a Tanzanian national. I hold a BA in History from Yale University. I am fluent in Swahili and I am working hard to improve my French!
During my free time, I enjoy scuba diving, watching football (YNWA) and recreating my mother’s extraordinary Tanzanian dishes.
