New Communications Assistant

Par Lord Cobbinah

Assistant en communication – médias numériques, Imperial College London
Target Malaria UK

I am thrilled to be joining Target Malaria as a Communications Assistant through 10,000 Black Interns.

I am a recent animation graduate from Nottingham Trent University, where I discovered and developed a strong passion for storytelling and using creative tools to communicate meaningful messages. During my time at University, I had the chance to work on various group projects that helped shape my creative thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities. One project that stood out was a live brief I worked on with Birmingham Botanical Gardens, where my team and I created a short, animated documentary for the website focusing on the banana plant and also celebrating the garden itself. That experience taught me how to collaborate effectively, meet deadlines and translate complex information into engaging content; skills I know that will be useful and valuable for this internship.

It’s a real honour to be joining a team working on such an important mission, and I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to Target Malaria’s efforts in tackling one of the world’s most persistent diseases. As someone who grew up in Ghana, I remember what it was like with dealing with malaria and overcoming it and it has become an experience that has stayed with me since; because of that I am especially eager to play a role in the spreading awareness about malaria and supporting the work to reduce its burden across the globe.

The idea of helping to build a world free from malaria really resonates with me, and I look forward to using my skills to aid that mission.  I am really looking forward to contributing my creative talents to any upcoming projects, learn new things, and to also be part of a team that’s striving to make a real difference in the world.
