New Quality Assurance Manager

Posted 11th August 2022 by Eoin Mac Hale

I’m delighted to have joined Target Malaria as Quality Assurance Manager at Imperial College London.

I will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of a quality management system (QMS) for Target Malaria. I will exercise independent oversight to ensure the QMS is in full compliance with World Health Organisation, national regulatory and project standards. The QMS aims to provide sufficient control and assurance to management, foster a strong quality culture across the Project, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Project on a continuous basis and provide a coordinated, standardised and centralised way of working for all members of the Project. In my role, I will work closely with all areas of Target Malaria

I’m an experienced international compliance and quality assurance professional who has worked in both the public and private sectors. I have extensive experience in international research projects and have managed global organisational efficiency and quality programs in a number of countries in Africa and South-East Asia. I have over 15 years’ experience having held senior compliance and operational quality assurance positions in the international NGO, academic and healthcare sectors. My most recent position was with the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) at the University of Oxford based in Bangkok, working with malaria research teams in South-East Asia, as their Compliance and Assurance Manager.

I have a Master’s degree in International Relations. In addition, I have trained as an internal auditor and have formal training in quality assurance and risk management. I’m also a trained Mental Health First Aider (MHFA).

I’m Irish and come from a large family that live in Spain, Ireland and the UK.
