Following my formal qualifications in the field of molecular biology I have worked in and been exposed to diverse scientific fields in various roles. This has broadened my perspective which allows me to apply my knowledge to new fields. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to joining Target Malaria, I was a Project Manager for over 9 years at the Voice Computing research group within the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa. I managed a variety of projects that ranged from research and development to implementation and commercialisation. These multi-year projects involved working with stakeholders in the academic, industry and government sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of my recent projects that I managed and lead, was a multi-year project working with researchers and a small development company to deliver an innovative technology that aims to bridge communication barriers experienced within a selected healthcare environment. This project required engagement and communication with a variety of internal and external stakeholders for which I was the primary point of contact. These stakeholders ranged from healthcare providers to Provincial and National Health Department representatives and Provincial Research Committees. In addition to managing the project I also lead the requirements elicitation and evaluation processes for the project which required significant community engagement. Three iterations of this technology were piloted across South Africa, covering a variety of demographics and geographical locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Medicine and Medical Biochemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand and am a certified Prince2 Practitioner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have a personal affinity to contribute to society through science. When I am not working, I enjoy practising yoga, reading, spending time in the garden and venturing outdoors. I am also an avid baker and cook, and I love to try new recipes all the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am South African national but will be based in the UK at the Silwood campus. I hope to make a valuable contribution to Target Malaria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
